Ribbon & Lace
Heirloom techniques are quick and easy on your serger. The rolled edge beautifully replaces the sewing machine technique known as ‘whip and roll’. This simple block uses the serger rolled edge stitch to attach both the ladder trim and the lace. On this block, the stitches are done with the wrong sides together. This can also be reversed so that the rolled edge stitches show on the surface of the block for a different look.
The belt loop attachment for your serger is great for making belt loops and so much more! It makes a great trim which can embellish the edge of a project, be an applied trim, or woven together to create fabric. This block is woven with large and small belt loop strips, but you can make them all one size if you prefer.
