The Mystery Medallion Quilt Block of the Month program by Sweet Pea has captured the imagination of quilting and embroidery enthusiasts all over the world! With almost 5000 participants as part of the Mystery Medallion Facebook Group, this in the hoop embroidered quilt is the talk of the town! Since we’re all about quilting and embroidery – we’ve decided to join the party and participate too! Come sew along with us!
Starting in March, join the SWI team for a FREE Medallion Quilt Sew Along session! Bring your embroidery machine, your blocks and necessary supplies, and let’s embroider together! This is not a class – we’ll be making own blocks – but it will be a good time to chat, socialize and preview a wide variety of fabric choices. Who knows – you may be inspired to try a new color combination or try a different block in one of the rows! The Sew Along will be the last Tuesday of the month from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Come and sew along all day – or just part of the day, either way, we do ask that you register for the Sew Along to let us know who to expect. All embroidery machines, and all levels of embroidery expertise welcome!
Here’s how it works: There will be 10 different rows (rings) to make including the center block. The rows (rings) after the center will include a quilt block design and a corner block design. A new row (ring) will be released each month. Eventually you will end up with a large quilt. The finished size will depend on which size hoop you use and how many rows (rings) you decide to do. If you want a larger quilt you can do some of the rows (rings) more than once. You can make any sized block you would like -- 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, or 7x7. To purchase the designs, you will need to go to the Sweet Pea Site and download your designs. The January and February designs have already been released.
You can purchase your blocks and read more about this enticing Mystery Block of the Month Program at: www.swpea.com.
We look forward to sewing along with you!
