January 31st, 2010Hello Everyone: Whew! What a week we've had at Sew Worth It! The John Deer - Adorable Embroideries Event was incredibly successful and there are lots of happy new owners of the BabyLock Machines. John was so informative and lots of fun - I'm still having trouble getting the image of John wearing a lace (one of his embroidery designs) thong on his head, and the red bra - yikes! - but incredibly funny! His wife would have been proud! I too am now the proud owner of all of his beautiful lace embroideries. I can't wait to get started so we can incorporate John Deer's Adorable Embroideries into our projects and classes at Sew Worth It! We will be carrying Adorable Embroideries at Sew Worth It so stop by and see what you can do with these new products. There are lots of embroidery designs out there, but very few are great, that's why we are so thrilled to carry the Adorable Embroidery Designs. Fabrics, fabrics, and even more fabrics! We are receiving shipments daily of the newest collections from RJR, In The Beginning, Clothworks, Art Gallery Fabrics, Westminster, Wilmington, Blank, Timeless Treasures, Hoffman and all of the most popular designers. Sew Worth It brings you the best in the industry - we know that you get tired of the same old collections from designers that make more of the same old collections with a slight change of color or design, so we are constantly looking for different and better to bring to you, our loyal customers. Come by and check it out! You may have noticed that our new website is being updated - more classes are in - and we will have the ability to sign-up for classes on line. Keep watching the Sew Worth It website as we continue to bring you the newest on-line shopping and class webinars. To receive automatic updates from the website and to get our on-line newsletter, you need to go to www.sewworthit.com and sign-up for the newsletters. Classes: FRIEDA ANDERSON's TRUNKSHOW and SUNDANCE WORKSHOP: February 11th and 12th. You'll want to see this fabulous Trunkshow showcasing Frieda's fusing technique, her hand-dyed fabrics, and fun creativity. Frieda will also have some of her patterns and kits available for purchase at the Trunkshow and will autograph her products. Join us and meet this international designer/educator. Take it to the next level and sign up for Frieda's Workshop and learn raw-edge fusing making quilting fun and fast. Use Frieda's original SunDance pattern to create a 24" x 24" wall quilt. By using Frieda's hand dyed fabrics, this charming quilt comes to life. Learn easy fusing techniques, quilting and finishing tips. Thinking Outside The Crayon Box (February 16th) is an opportunity to learn from an international educator. Elizabeth travels the world and has been teaching students how to make their own color wheel from fabric. In this class, you will make your own color wheel from fabric provided by Sew Worth It. Elizabeth will show you how to go to a fabric store or your stash and pick fabrics from your color wheel to make projects that will sizzle. This is a rare opportunity to take the stress out of choosing the right fabrics, in the right colors, with the right scale, and stop relying on others to help you choose. This class is limited in size and is filling quickly - don't miss this opportunity - sign up today! The Bag Ladies class continues to be very popular and we are fortunate to have Linda Rauld from Personalities as the Educator. February project uses the new Texture Magic product and the purse sample is on display at our Sarasota location. Class size will be limited to 16 people and will be strictly enforced. This class is almost full so call if you want to make this beautiful Texture Magic handbag. TNT Embroidablock Block-of-the-Month is the latest project to combine embroidery and quilting. Let your embroidery machine piece, embroidery and quilt your block in the hoop. Some other shops carry this program, but what makes Sew Worth It different is we will give you the blocks and instructions on a usb flashdrive every month, demonstrate and teach you how to complete the block each month, demonstrate and teach you how to join the blocks with several methods, or give you the choice of picking up your flashdrive with the new designs and completing your project in the privacy of your home. You may also choose to stay after the demonstration and start embroidering on your quilt with Betty's guidance, so bring your machine and supplies. If you are a seasonal Floridian, we will email your design and directions on the day of the class. At Sew Worth It we try to give something back to our attendees so the SPECIAL for the TNT BOM is if you get a friend to sign up for the TNT BOM program, you will receive a $25 gift certificate for each friend that purchases the program from SWI. Attendees of the "Class Preview" are not elligible to be your friend. It is our hope that you spread the goodwill to someone who was unable to attend the Class Preview Event. Each month that you finish your blocks and present it at the next class, you will have an entry in the Chest for a drawing to be held at the last session for a $100 gift certificate. On the first month, everyone is automaticaly entered into the drawing. Also, just for attending the class, you get another entry into the Chest and another opportunity to win the gift certificate. Lots of fun and this BOM has lots of Textures using ric-rac and trapunto. Call today and visit SWI to reserve your spot. Stash Bash Block-of-the-Month is a great way to make a beautiful quilt and use up your stash. We heard you when you said that you have a huge stash and you want to start using it up so we created this class to give you a hand. The start-up fee is $20 and you will receive the first block instructions AND a fat quarter - you provide your stash to create your block. During each class you will receive your packet with your fat quarter - there will be an exchange amongst all the attendees prior to opening your packet. Don't be so quick to give up your fat quarter because there is a hidden ticket in one of the fat quarter packets and the winner gets a prize. There will be an exchange and a drawing winner every month. Karla will demonstrate how to prepare your blocks each month, provide tips and tricks. This is not a hands-on class so a machine is not necessary. The rest of the classes are $10 for your packet which will include your block patterns and a fat quarter and one hidden ticket. The blocks will be at the register on the day of the class and aren't available prior to that date if you are unable to attend the class. If you are unable to attend, the packet will be held for you at the register, or we will be happy to ship your packet. There is also a Fat Quarter Raffle - you purchase a SWI fat quarter, which goes in the raffle pot, and you receive a ticket to enter the drawing to win all of the fat quarters in the pot at the end of the class. To sweeten the pot, SWI contribues up to 20 fat quarters each month for the raffle. A great stash builder for this beautiful quilt! Lots of fun and a great way to socialize! The Sew Worth It Machine Mastery classes are up and running and very popular. If you purchased a machine from SWI, the Machine Mastery classes are free. If you purchased your machine elsewhere, there is a fee and you can call SWI for details. The first week of every month (except December) is the "Getting to Know your BabyLock Machine" and you will learn the basics of cleaning, operation, and solving common sewing problems. The second week of every month (except December) is our Machine Mastery: Embroidery Placement, Threads, and Stabilizers. This class is lecture demo - no machine needed for class and is designed to teach you how to choose the right stabilizer for the project, which thread to use, and how to put the embroidery in the right spot, and much more. The third week of every month (except December) is our Machine Mastery: Sewing With Your Feet. This class teaches you how to use your feet that came with your BabyLock Machine. We want everyone to have access to these free classes and registration is required. Only one Machine Mastery class can be reserved at a time, but you can take these classes over and over again if space is available. It is our desire to have you sewing and embroidering on your new BabyLock machines and encourage you to take these classes to learn how to get the most from your incredible machine. Lots of new classes at Sew Worth It - view our classes on our website www.sewworthit.com and visit our shop or call for reservations! Also, watch for information on dates and times for an event with Eleanor Burns, Simon Haskins, and serger events at SWI in 2010.
